Those of you following me for some time know that I like to get information from various esoteric tools, and share it in case you find it provocative and insightful. The object of my most recent attention is today’s date – November 11, 2009, or 11:11:11 (by adding 2 + 9 of 2009).

This is the first time this master number has shown up in a date (in what I understand our lifetime!), which is big energy on a number of levels.

To begin, 11 is the master psychic’s number, and focuses on intuition, spiritual truth, ideals and being a conduit for high vibration energy and insights. It’s not about being risky, reckless or even speculative; in fact, it’s the opposite. It’s making choices and decisions from a deep knowingness that transcends the surface ‘look’ of a situation, circumstances or relationship.

When you (or any of us) operate from that deep inner place, you are following your unique insights, which is the only place to enhance our true creativity. Looking for the short, obvious answers stunts our growth, the remedy of which is to know what we know and be responsible for it.

The primary energy of 11:11:11 is (naturally enough) 1 energy, which is about leadership, new beginnings, fresh starts, pioneering, independence, self-awareness, consciousness, leading your own life and taking care of your own needs; however, the shadow side of 1 energy includes being selfish, arrogant, aggressive, egotistical and lacking tact.

The 1 + 1 energy of 11 is the number of connection – if you know that 1 + 1 equals two, but it doesn’t feeeeel right, it’s a sign that you’ve overlooked some details and your intuition is talking to you to help you connect the dots.

The 11.11 energy invites being fully accountable for your actions and how you are living your life from an evolved perspective. When not fully expressed, the shadow energy of 11 is living in fantasy, instability, paranoia, un-balanced, ignorant, manipulative, with an irrational fear of change and self-sabotage.

It’s a powerful number that can offer clarity or delusion, depending on how you relate to it.

The 11 energy helps us to see things from different perspectives – even the 11 (when laid sideways) becomes an equal sign (=).

And 11 is made up of two 1s, symbolizing humanity by the 1 looking at itself (think 1:1 with the colon as the mirror). The 11 energy represents both the one person but also the ‘we’ that is formed by two. It is the individual reflecting on oneself at a deep level (not just the surface image) to grow into self-acceptance and more full contribution to the whole.

11:11:11 (the date today) adds up to the number 6, which is the number of domestic responsibilities, home, family, stability, accountability and balance. The 6 energy teaches how to make the ‘right’ decisions, to rise above small-mindedness and to see the hidden aspects of your priorities and decisions – they have to go beyond your own interests to include your “family” (whether biological or chosen).

There aren’t any quick fixes in the six vibration; instead, it’s about patience and taking time to let things grow (as we do with children).

In this energy, you are the parent – to shepherd positive growth, to teach, be a good role model, and be fully expressed from the inside out – for yourself and the people in your world. This may require some healing from the inside out too, which means letting go of that which you know no longer serves you emotionally, physically, intellectually, energetically, spiritually. This is the time to release those old patterns and heal, as the power of profound insights supports your change.

May you discover your insights and illuminated path for yourself and your business by using the 11:11:11 energy today and beyond.

If there is any area in the home that needs a boost it’s the bedroom. Ask any couple after a hard day at work and they’ll most likely agree. The principles of element and energy are used in feng shui to bring positive energy to your home and your life. One way this energy flows through your home is dependent on the position of your furniture.

Here are tips to turn your most private area into a sanctuary or a love nest if you choose.

1. Remove everything from your room that doesn’t inspire what you want from your bedroom. We clutter our bedroom space with treadmills (they double as clothes hangers), televisions, radios and the like. All of these things dampen the energy that should flow freely. You have televisions in other rooms so let that be where you watch it.

2. Choose a color that brings balance to your bedroom. According to feng shui, flesh tones are good for adding sensuality to your bedroom. Deep browns are significant with the wood element which brings life and vitality. As you sleep, your body is repairing itself and renewing your energy for the next day.

3. Leave space below your bed for energy to flow all around it. Beds with drawers underneath block the energy in your bedroom from surrounding you. If your sexual energy is running a little low, it is important to have the most positive energy possible in the bedroom.

4. Add artwork. We place artwork in the living room for family and friends to see but in the bedroom, it’s for you. If you want your bedroom to be a sanctuary use photos of tropical places, flowers, and other soothing images that reflect how you want to feel there. To “get in the mood” choose images that bring out the sensual side of you.

5. Adjust the lighting. Different levels of light change the look of the colors in your room. Use candles, soft lighting or dimmer switches to let more light in or keep light out. Natural light nourishes your body and it is no different in your home.

6. Choose a good quality bed and bedding. We’ve talked about the look of the bedroom but not the main item in the room. A bed with a comfortable, well made mattress is essential for adequate rest. A bed with a headboard and a footboard that’s sturdy can be expensive but it’s worth it in the long run. Don’t forget the sheets either. High thread count bedding is soft to the touch and welcoming after a long, hard day.

So, how does your bedroom stack up? If the energy in your room is waning a little, use the above advice to get it moving strong again.

Is your house a “Home SWEET Home?” If it‘s not, you can use the principles of feng shui to create a strong center in your home. Start with one room and work your way around the entire house.

Ditch the Clutter Once & For All

The first thing to do when remodeling your home is to remove all the clutter. And, everyone has clutter. What about that closet you have given up to the dust bunnies? Where do old lawn tools go to die? It’s probably somewhere in your garage.

Hold a yard sale or a swap meet to get rid of stuff you don’t need any more. Donate clothing in good condition to the local charity. Much of the extra stuff contributes to your energy not flowing throughout the house as it should.

Map it Out

Next, create a bagua or energy map of your home. There are four cardinal points (North, South, East and West) and each one can be further divided (NE, NW, SE and SW). You now have eight distinct areas in your home. Each area has a governing element and colors recommended for your use.

Feng shui is applied not only to building harmony and releasing energy in your home but also to cures. Even a home needs to be cured now and then. Have you ever walked into a place and felt depressed or sad? Something is wrong with the energy in that place, according to feng shui theory. Feng shui cures extend to using crystals, essential oils and representations of the five elements to cleanse and bring your home back to a stable energy level.

Know Thy Neighbors (Family Members)

Learn everyone’s governing element. Using the Chinese New Year, determine what element works best for each member of your household. This element can be used more in your bedroom and that of your children. The décor will speak harmony in everyone’s private space.

Each feng shui color has an element associated with it. In the common areas, bring all of the elements together in balance through furniture, artwork, flowers and other features. Using miniature fountains is a great way to bring water into the picture.

Everything In It’s Place

Where everything in your room is placed is also important. You want the energy to flow unhindered. Resist blocking natural doorways with furniture. Avoid re-cluttering your home with a lot of furniture or accents. Less is more. Simple changes make a big difference in a feng shui home.

A feng shui expert can give you direction as to how much of one color to use in any given space. It is your job to be open to the changes suggested to create positive energy in your home.

We all have our favorite colors. With the art of feng shui, the use of color takes on an importance beyond whether we like it or not. Learn how color plays a role in your home’s tranquility.

There are five elements that are essential to feng shui: fire, wood, metal, earth and wind. Each element is associated with a color or a group of similar colors that represent its energy. You’ll be surprised to see where you favorite color turns up.

Earth – In feng shui theory, the earth represents stability in your life. It helps you to stay rooted and grounded in your relationships. The colors associated with the earth element are beige and a light shade of yellow. Light colors like these on walls will lighten up a space and make you feel as if anything is possible.

Fire – What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of this element? Maybe it’s the heat or a passionate feeling. Both words are used to describe the feng shui fire element. As you might imagine, colors associated with the fire element are red, orange, bright yellow, pink and purple. If you think that pink doesn’t seem to fit, you haven’t seen the “hot” variation. All of these colors will make your heart race and feed your energetic attitude.

Wood – In feng shui, the wood element is an ancient symbol of prosperity. Trees are made of wood and they contain lush green leaves and provide an abundance of oxygen for the people of the world. In keeping with these “life givers” the colors for this element are green and brown. So, it’s not a coincidence that money is green!

Metal – If you’ve ever looked at metal you see how it has definite lines and shapes. In feng shui, metal brings clarity to your life. The colors gray and white represent these qualities.

Water – Water is an element that represents abundance and a refreshing spirit. When you bathe in water it makes you feel clean. Using the colors of blue and black in your home promotes that purity.

Don’t be afraid to add color in your home or office. How and where you use each color is governed by the feng shui energy map of your living area. You may have never thought that red could be an energizing force in your home but according to feng shui principles, it can. Color isn’t just for the walls but also the artwork, furniture and accents. It inspires your dreams, opens your hearts and brings new life into your home.

Feng shui is an ancient Chinese philosophy for creating positive energy in any space. The system is dominated by eight areas of each space and five elements. Here, you will learn about the five elements that define feng shui and give rise to the colors and organization of your space to create an atmosphere of prosperity and health.

The Five Elements

There are five main elements in feng shui theory. They are wood, fire, water, earth and metal. Each element plays a crucial role within the space that you occupy, whether it is your home or your office. After you have used a compass and your home’s floor plan to create the bagua (energy map) the next step is to look at the elements that control each of the eight areas.

Each element has a particular life area that it influences. Knowing what areas those are helps with creating the design of your home and the use of furniture and accents that demonstrate that specific element.

Fire – As you can imagine, anything that has to do with fire inspires a passion that burns deep within. The fire element also adds a high amount of energy to anything that you do. This includes your work (career), your leisure activities and for couples, your sex life.

Water – Water is a refreshing element. Water flows freely bring with it an abundance of good fortune. In ancient rituals of many cultures, water was used as a purifying agent. Using the water element in your home adds purity, abundance of energy and a fresh feeling.

Earth – Have you ever heard of someone who is “down to Earth?” The Earth element brings a feeling of stability and security to your home. Mother Earth nurtures all who live on it and within it. The same goes for the earth element in your home – it nourishes each family member.

Metal – You may be wondering why metal is an element. It seems so hard and impersonal. Actually, metal is used to represent efficiency and clarity of mind and purpose. Your work will have both a well-defined purpose and good qualities when the metal element is present.

Wood – Think of trees. They provide oxygen for all living creatures that need it. The wood element equals health to the body. Healing cures using feng shui include the wood element in their composition. Prosperity in your home is also governed by the wood element.

Each feng shui element serves a different purpose in the home. The associated colors and areas that work best with each element help you to build positive energy throughout your home. Each area will be strong in a particular element and give you a certain feeling when you enter that room.

It sounds like the latest Oriental dish, but feng shui is actually a method of organization and design that brings harmony and peace to your home or office. Read on to learn exactly what these two words mean and how you can benefit from them.

Feng Shui is a spiritual system that began in ancient China about 3,000 years ago. There are many complex notions that go into feng shui but a simple paring down of the philosophy has become popular in the Western hemisphere today. Basically, feng shui revolves around the “chi” or energy that surrounds all life.

The words feng shui literally mean “wind water.” Both concepts are associated with prosperity and good health in the Chinese lifestyle. To have good energy flowing through your home, use the basics of feng shui.

Basics of Feng Shui

In a given living space, each room has its own energy. The energy has to be allowed to flow freely throughout the items within the room to create a total atmosphere of positivity. Who knew that a bathroom had energy? It certainly has a lot of other things, but feng shui teaches us that even a bathroom can bring calm feelings to each family member.

Getting Started – Lopan and Bagua

Practitioners of feng shui use a couple of basic tools to get started. The first tool is the compass. A compass in the woods lets you know which way is up and guides you in the right direction. The same goes for the feng shui compass also called lopan. The compass gives the practitioner a deeper sense of the energy in the home and what needs to be where in order to allow the energy to flow without restraint.

Each of the areas of your home has a different feng shui need. The compass helps to define what colors and feng shui elements need to be represented within each room. It also takes into account which element governs the lives of each person in the house.

The compass looks similar to a compass you would use while hiking. There is a compass needle in the center. The compass itself consists of several concentric circles that guide the practitioner to give you a layout of what your home needs in order to be whole again.

The other tool is the bagua. It is the energy map of the house. Using a blueprint drawing of your home, you can map out the eight areas of the energy map: South, Southeast, North, Northwest, East, Northeast, West and Southwest. Each section of the home has a governing element, color and purpose in your life.

Use the compass to properly divide your home into the eight sections creating your energy map. Knowing what portion of the home is in what area dictates the way you will organize it.

Feng shui theory says that you can affect the energy around you simply by creating a space that is favorable to your life. This involves knowing the five feng shui elements, feng shui colors and how the energy moves throughout each room in your home.

Do you feel like you are always talking yourself out of success?  As soon as you start to set goals for yourself,  do you suddenly have nagging thoughts about how you aren’t up to the task or how you simply aren’t qualified to carry it through?

If you have ever experienced either situation, you need to change the way you respond to your inner dialogue.  Instead of obeying your negative commands, you can use positive self-talk to counter the negativity and overcome nearly all anxious thoughts.

Setting Goals and Sticking to Them with Positive Self-Talk

Are you initially filled with excitement when you first set goals for yourself? Are these thoughts then followed by self-doubt and self-defeating thoughts that stop you in your tracks before you even get started?

It can be difficult to make the most of your life when you are constantly talking yourself out of being a success.  It can be frustrating and discouraging to have these thoughts constantly plaguing you. Many of us, in fact, don’t even realize we have them! All we know is that we don’t have the confidence to stick to our plans and reach our goals.

But there’s another way!

Positive self-talk is an effective way to set goals and ensure that you stick to them, even if you have never been able to do this before.  The way this works is that you decide what goal is important to you, and then you plan the logistics of how you are going to attain this goal.  When self-doubt starts kicking in, you will respond with affirmations that prove your success without surrendering to the negative pressure. Since you’re reading this article, it’s clear that you’re no quitter and you’re certainly not a failure, so start believing in yourself!

Re-Programming Your Mind

Affirmations are essentially positive statements that re-program your mind for the positive. The moment you have a self-defeating thought you’d be able to counter the negative with a motivating statement. An example of a positive affirmation is: “I am worthy of great success,” or “I see myself in the winner’s circle.”  What this does is replace negativity with thoughts that will help you move toward your goals instead of further away from them.

Positive self-talk is easier to implement than you might think. You may not be aware of the severity of the negative dialogue currently within your mind. However, once you begin with positive self-talk, you will suddenly realize that you are self-sabotaging the goals you set for yourself from the minute that you make them. This process can open your eyes to exactly how much this inner conversation has been interfering with your life. You’ll feel hopeful that you can now set goals and surpass them.

Through positive self-talk you will be able easily set long and short-term goals for yourself. And when you use affirmations, you’ll have accessible tools to help you push yourself further than ever before. Learning to quiet negativity with positive thoughts is a great move toward setting and attaining future goals with ease.

Do you sometimes feel that with all the negativity in the world – what comes at us via the media as well as other people – that it’s hard to remain positive?  Now I’m not going to dismiss that we’re living in challenging times, however we choose how we think and feel about ourselves, our lives, our work, and our world.

Next time you’re feeling down, try this quick and easy technique to identify how much of it is coming from external sources – and what to do about it:

  1.  Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and take a deep breath (after you do this a few times you can do it within seconds anywhere – standing up, eyes open, etc.).

  2.  Imagine that you have your own personal TV screen in front of you that will give you answers to anything you ask.

  3.  On your screen visualize a gauge on that goes from zero to 100.  (It can look like a thermometer, speedometer, or a digital readout – whatever works for you.).

  4.  Ask your gauge, from zero to 100, how much of the energy that is causing you to feel down, drained, tired, etc. is not yours, and you will immediately get a answer.  Don’t think about it, analyze it, or be concerned about whose energy it is.

  5.  Next, have the intention to release it – out of your physical body and out of your energy field that surrounds your body.  (Imagining a grounding cord between the base of your spine and the center of the earth is a simple tool for releasing unwanted energy.)

  6.  Finally – and most importantly – choose what energy – or combination of energies – you would like to fill back up with (i.e. abundance, excitement, fun, joy, enthusiasm, clarity, etc.).  As you imagine those energies permeating every cell of your body and your energy field, notice how much lighter you feel!

Great Book to Help You Raise Your Happiness Level

One of the best books I’ve read recently is Happy for No Reason, 7 Steps to Being Happy from the Inside Out by Marci Shimoff with Carol Kline.  The book discusses our “happiness set-point” – what others are calling our “happiness quotient” – indicating that 50% of our general level of happiness is based on our genetics, but that the other 50% is learned – meaning we can change it if we choose.  This book has a myriad of “Happiness Action Steps” – practical ways to become happier from the inside out, along with stories of the Happy 100 – people who live happy lives, many of whom have lived through tragedy or come from very humble means.Living Happier Techniques

Are You Complaining or Solution Focused?

Put a jar somewhere handy.  Every time you catch yourself complaining, put a quarter in the jar.  As you listen to the quarter enter the jar, focus on the solution, or any positive thought.  You may be surprised at how often you’re paying the jar in the beginning.  Do something that makes you feel good with the money that accumulates in the jar – such as donate it to your favorite charity.

Who Are You Hangin’ Around?

Recently I’ve heard the same concept from three different sources (including the book mentioned above):  Your general level of happiness is based on the 5 people you spend the most time around.  Think about it.  Stop and make a list of the 5 people you’re around the most.  Are they usually positive and upbeat, ready to discuss interesting things and do fun stuff?  Or are they usually complaining and negative?  Another measurement is: Do you feel better, lighter, happier, more uplifted after spending time with that person (by phone or in person)?  Or do you feel worse, heavier, depressed, discouraged?  Really makes you think about who you choose spend your time with, doesn’t it!

Whooz Hangin’ Around You?

When you get together with people, is the first thing you mention is the lousy weather, the bad economy, or the war?  How about choosing to start all your interactions out on a positive note?  Ask your conversation companion what’s the best thing that’s happened to them recently, then share the best thing that’s happened to you.  Be the first to compliment people or share an uplifting comment or story.

Choose To Be Happy

The bottom line is that we can choose to be happy and in gratitude about being alive during these dynamic and exciting times.  We are alive in a time of great awakening to the power we have to create our own realities and live freely from the full expression of who we are.

Do you ever lie? More importantly, do you ever lie to yourself? Well, probably not deliberately. If you’ve ever wondered why it’s sometimes hard to overcome obstacles, or create the life of your dreams, you’re not alone! Even experts, who teach manifestation and attraction principles, run into obstacles in manifesting their desires. Could it be that what you consciously say you want clashes with what you unconsciously desire? Could you be lying to yourself, and not even know?

You’re probably familiar with the popular concept thoughts create reality. The first time I was introduced to the concept, a flame of anger rose in me faster than you could strike a match. I was red-hot mad because my life looked like an F5 tornado had passed through it. I thought to myself that there is no way I would have created a life of devastation and ruin! What an absurd concept!

After the anger died down, I began to wonder, ‘What if my thinking had been the culprit of my unhappiness and failure, and I just didn’t know it? What if by not exploring my thinking, my life would remain barren, bleak, and miserable?’ Surmising it might be wise to put this new theory to the test, I came up with a ‘Thinking Formula’ to help me.

My formula helped me make amazing connections between my thoughts and my reality. But, it wasn’t until I took applied kinesiology training that I understood exactly how, why, and which thoughts were sabotaging my best efforts. Through muscle testing, I quickly discovered that no matter how much I had wanted to create a life of health, wealth, and happiness, it had been impossible because I had opposing gremlins lurking in the background of my mind.

I also discovered that what I thought I believed, and told myself on a conscious level, wasn’t what I really believed on an unconscious level. No wonder I was sick, confused, and failing miserably. I had been lying to myself, and I didn’t even know it!

Life can change dramatically when you precisely pinpoint the root of a problem, and that is exactly what happened to me. My life, like Cinderella, transformed quickly. Up until this point, I had suffered from Post-Partum Depression, Epstein Barr Virus, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Candida, and Hypoglycemia. In addition, I had been haunted with an irrepressible desire to end my life.

When life went from dark and dull to living color, in just four short months, I felt like a spell of magic had been cast upon me. Despite the miracle, I fully expected my carriage to turn into a pumpkin any minute, and my life to return to the dark and depressing life that it had once been. But, that didn’t happen. Why? I changed the programming of my unconscious mind. Those little gremlins were now working for me, rather than against me.

I continued to improve over the years, with only occasional bumps along the way. When obstacles arose, I had a tool for immediately getting to the root of the problem or concern, transform it, and keep moving. Today, I call the tool Evo-KTM, short for Evolutionary KinesiologyTM.

Applied Kinesiology is to the body and mind what search engines (Google® and Yahoo®) are to the internet. You type a question into your web-browser and hit enter. The search engine rummages through a global databank and before you can bat an eye, a plethora of information magically appears.

It’s the same with Applied Kinesiology. A facilitator proposes a question to the client using the body as the keyboard, and within seconds information is obtained from the body through the use of muscle testing, or Muscle Response FeedbackTM.

After turning my life around, I started facilitating life make-over sessions using applied kinesiology. When my client, a well respected Dallas doctor, experienced an astounding transformation himself, he began to send his chronically ill patients to me for sessions.

He sensed their sincere desire to get well, yet also intuited that these particular patients were not healing because of a mental, emotional, or spiritual hindrance.

Soon after I began working with his patients, the doc began to notice remarkable improvement in most all of them. Their vital life force energy returned after a few sessions and many wanted to experience life again. One woman, who had been lying on the couch with chronic back pain for 20 years, got herself a face-lift and boyfriend, and started traveling the world. We marveled and celebrated as his patients got their lives back.

What ever it is that you may wish for in life– wealth, health, or someone special– health is the ultimate attractor factor. It takes energy to manifest your desires.

If you need medical attention, seek the help of a qualified professional. If you, or someone you know, feels blocked or stymied, you can shorten the timeline between where you are and where you want to be by seeking an applied kinesiology expert to help you unlock the storehouse of treasure within you. Health, wealth, success, and joy can be yours, too!
